Volunteer Organization

At our last Teen Advisory Board meeting, Lexie mentioned an organization that would appreciate all of our help.  Hampton High School has an involvement with Students for Darfur.  All of the information can be found at their website:  http://hampton4darfur.wordpress.com/

Right now, they are running a sale called Sweets for Sudan.  All information can be found at the preceeding link, and their hope is to raise $100, all of which will be donated to the cause.  If anyone knows any friends or family that would be interested in any of these delicious baked goods, please contact Lexie at asocovich@gmail.com.

There is also a facebook page, which can be found here.

Thanks!

National Gaming Day

National Gaming Day is back at the library.  Join us for local gaming tournaments, as well as the largest worldwide gaming tournament!  We will have multiple games available, including video games, and the more traditional board games.  NGD is a great way to meet new people, while still having fun.  Come join your community, and  participate in one of the coolest library events of the year!

In 2009, more than 31,000 people of all ages played games in libraries on National Gaming Day, up from 14,000 the year before!  Let's double the numbers again this year!

National Gaming Day will be held on November 13th from 12-3 at Northern Tier Library's Richland Branch.  Hope to see you there!

Welcome!

Welcome!!!

We are happy to see that you have stumbled upon Northern Tier Library's Teen Blog!  Now that you're here, you're probably wondering what this place is all about.  Well, let me take a minute and tell you.

This is a place where teen and tween library patrons are invited and encouraged to participate in online discussion about the media that is important to them.  If you have a book, movie or cd that you have really love, or even hate, please participate in discussions, or even start your own!  It's also a place where you can find out about all of the latest and greatest events in the library and your neighborhood that pertain to you!  We would even love to hear your suggestions about groups or activities that you would like to see take place at the library.

Many new events are starting up in your library in the next few months.  Stay tuned here for updates!
